Later, Ian Quinn gave a tour of a Deathlock manufacturing facility to a group of military generals, telling them how if the military invests in Cybertek their super soldiers would replace their current special ops units. Furthermore, Quinn assured them with their investment they could build dozens of manufacturing facilities which would produce hundreds of super soldiers a day. The project died with its creator when Garrett was killed by Peterson after Ace was rescued by Agent Coulson's team.

Centipede serum is a chemical mixture created by the Centipede Group using a combination of the Extremis serum, created by A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics), and the Supersoldier Serum created by Dr. Abraham Erskine during World War II. The serum was administered through the Centipede injector device and provides superhuman abilities to human subjects. Oddly, despite the Centipede Serum containing the Extremis Virus in its chemical composition, it did not give any of its host the original extremis-regenerative abilities, but instead provided its hosts with an unstable regenerative ability.
Mike peterson was incapable of regrowing any amputated body parts or heal extensive bodily damage, as the original Extremis could. Before the Extremis in the serum would cause its user to explode after a certain period of time, but the Centipede Group was able to correct this flaw in "Girl in the Flower Dress" by using Chan Ho Yin's fire resistant blood platelets.
When John Garret's cybernetics could no longer keep him alive, he started using the Serum to prolong his life. However, his body was so weak already that the Serum didn't give him any super-human strength or endurance and couldn't keep him alive indefinitely. Garret later combined this serum with GH.325 to allow him to stay alive, by granting Garret a strong healing factor. Unlike before, this did allow him to have super strength and rapid regenerative abilities. The GH.325 however caused Garret to go insane.
Extremis serum is the chemical basis of the entire Centipede project, Chemical Compound Created by Raina, the concoction which provides superhuman abilities to human subjects. Developed by Maya Hansen with Advanced Idea Mechanics, the serum gives its host the ability to heal & regenerate physical & mental damages instantly, including limb & organ regeneration in a few minutes. It even provides its host with various superhuman physical enhancements and an exothermic ability. It has since been modified by the Centipede Group to its current Stage Two level. Agent Phillip Coulson would appear to be the key to Stage Three, specifically his death and revival.
Users
Centipede Device
Centipede Device was the injector mechanism, used by the Project Centipede team, that pumped the Centipede serum into a human body. It was seen in use on Mike Peterson, and later on the supersoldiers the Centipede Group used to free Edison Po. The Centipede may give a person superhuman abilities, but it also causes them to lose their minds and eventually explode in anger, due to the volatile substance of the Extremis virus.
In the wake of the experiments on Chan Ho Yin, the Centipede Group has developed means of reducing the risk and keeping subjects alive longer, although the effects of the Night-Night Gun on Mike Peterson seem more lasting and desirable. The Centipede's serum is discernibly similar to that developed by Dr. Erskine for the "Super-Soldier" project in the 1940s, which turned Steve Rogers into Captain America.
Supersoldier Serum
Captain America : The First Avenger
A chemical solution invented by Dr. Abraham Erskine in the late 1930s to early 1940s. It was designed to enhance the overall physique of a person. It increases their strength, stamina, mental faculties, resilience, mobility, vitality and regeneration rate. The first one to be tested with it was Johann Schmidt. Because the chemicals were designed to amplify existing traits, it turned Johann into an even worse version of himself, and he even lost the skin on his face, leaving a red skull in its place.
The second one to be tested was Steve Rogers, who Erskine hand picked himself after he heard Rogers' reasoning for entering the war, as well as observing his actions during training. Unlike with Schmidt, the effects of the serum worked like they were supposed to and enhanced the goodness in Rogers. After the success of Rogers, Erskine was gunned down by a H.Y.D.R.A. agent, and the last vial of the serum was stolen and broken after a chase scene. With Erskine dead, the last of the serum was inside of Rogers's DNA coding. Without the proper recipe, it cannot be effectively duplicated.
The Incredible Hulk
The serum was mentioned when General "Thunderbolt" Ross was explaining to Captain Emil Blonksy about the experiments done in the 40s to bring about super soldiers and that only one was a success (aka, Captain America). He continues to explain that it was the idea to recreate it that had Banner attempting to remake it for the military, this time using gamma radiation before it went wrong. Blonsky volunteers to try out the formula at hand, and is given a small dose, which makes him advanced strength & a rapid healing factor. While the serum was helpful in keeping the man alive after being nearly killed by the Hulk, Blonsky abandons the formula treatment and instead goes and gets gamma radiation, transforming him into the Abomination.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Project Centipede's formula has elements or aspects of the super soldier serum, hence why the subjects experience superhuman enhancements. This Extremis serum formula is mixed with gamma radiation and extraterrestrial metals. It had been used on Mike Peterson to heal his injured back. The formula is unstable, however, and can cause the person to be a bomb if they are too angry. At least in the case of Michael Peterson, the Night-Night Gun had an unanticipated side effect of stabilizing the reactions within him, preventing explosion.
