History
Daisy Johnson and Phil Coulson realized after the War against the Inhumans that the world was filled with powered people who could be recruited to S.H.I.E.L.D., not only to benefit the organization but to help them feel as if they "belonged". They started the Caterpillars program to find, train, and have these individuals fight for good. Andrew Garner was asked to be the team's psychologist to evaluate mental combat readiness and the Cocoon was the training facility. Eventually, Joey Gutierrez decided to be a member of the Secret Warriors after learning control over his powers. Lincoln Campbell, after helping S.H.I.E.L.D. to realize that Garner was the Inhuman killer dubbed Lash, joined the team on Coulson's request.

She went through the process of Terrigenesis in an ancient Kree City when she followed Raina, who had taken a Diviner with her. Following the end of the War against the Inhumans, Phil Coulson put her in charge of finding and recruiting members for a team centered around powered individuals.
- Elena Rodriguez : An Inhuman with the ability to run and move at least 180 meters per second. Her super speed lasts exactly the same amount of time as one of her heartbeats; after which she retrogrades back to her original position. She is a Colombian citizen who underwent Terrigenesis during the Inhuman Outbreak.
- Joey Gutierrez : An Inhuman with the ability to manipulate metal into different forms. He went through the process of Terrigenesis during the Inhuman Outbreak when he took fish oil pills, which were made of fish that had been contaminated with the Terrigen Mist. Shortly after he emerged from his cocoon, the ATCU tried to capture him.
- Lincoln Campbell : An Inhuman with the ability to manipulate the electrical charge in molecules. He went through the process of Terrigenesis at Afterlife when he was selected after a few years of preparation.
